Yep, I’ve been there. Right there in the center of my home state of Iowa is the baseball field movie set where they filmed the movie, Field of Dreams, back in the day. If you saw the movie, you will remember the story line where an Iowa corn farmer, hearing voices, interprets the phrase “If you build it, they will come” as a command to build a baseball diamond in his cornfields. With big dreams and imaginary visions, he builds the field and in the end, people travel in throngs to the field to watch games which saves him from financial despair.

That makes for a great feel-good movie, but in reality, it takes a bit more than fantasy and voices to make dreams come true. So, you know where this is going…having a great-looking, functional website is excellent, but it alone will not ensure that people will visit and buy your products and services. By building it, you definitely increased the odds of them coming, but with a bit more thought and energy, you increase your likelihood of success for your business.

You’ve more than likely heard of SEO.  If you haven’t, no worries, because, by the time you finish reading this article, you’ll have an understanding of what search engine optimization (SEO) is and why it’s valuable and important.  What The Heck Is SEO?

So first, why should you be interested in this technical-sounding thing called SEO?  In short, because you want people to know about you and you want to be successful.  Do you remember the line from the movie, Field of Dreams, “If you build it, they will come”? That’s the illusion so many people believe when it comes to their website. Just because you have a website doesn’t mean that anyone will come to it.  It’s like opening up a retail store in an abandoned strip mall and not putting up a sign making people aware that you’re there.  As the #1 most important marketing tool of the 21st century, your website is the most important means to let others know that you exist.  Here is where SEO is critical to set you apart from the pack! According to August 2020 statistics from siteefy.com estimates are 380 new websites are created every minute of every day 365 days a year.

Hacking. How real is the threat? Very real. Just this week, one of our customer sites was the target of 22,000+ hacking attempts in 24 hours. Purposely, we have the tools in place to ward off these evil activities. Even so, the hackers are constantly upping their game causing us to spend a great deal of time ensuring the safety of our website environment. Trust me, we are not alone.

As you know, hardly a week goes by where you will read in the news or see on television that a major company or government agency has been hacked, critical data lost, and the financial impact to their customers. Don’t feel left out. We can assure you the hackers, both foreign and domestic, are knocking at your website door, too.

Are You Eating Your Vegetables? You know eating a variety of nutritious foods each day is important. Yet likely there’s a group of foods you don’t care for. For many that’s vegetables. You know they’re important for your health, yet avoid them at all costs.Social media is very similar. You’ll hear how important it is to your business for marketing, brand recognition, and relationship building, but many tend to avoid it. And those of you that have set up a profile or page, often just nibble at it here and there, let it get cold, and push it to the bottom of the “to do” list. And because you don’t see results, you figure it doesn’t work and is a waste of time.Like vegetables are to your health, social media is a critical component to a healthy, thriving business. What Exactly Is Social Media?

so·cial me·di·a: noun websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking.

One of our newest clients, Desert Elite Cup (DEC), recently took the next big step in bringing the most up-to-date technology to their fans, players, and coaches, a site targeting the mobile phone market.  As we all know, using your internet-enabled phone to access web sites is at most a "hit or miss" proposition.  Downloading content rich sites can be a never ending wait at mobile broadband speeds.  Now there are choices.  You can wait for the standard site to load, or you can choose to access the much faster loading mobile version of their site.
