So, it all started on a dark and dreary night. Did that get your attention? Probably not, but I will be proceeding with my story of two of the busiest weeks in my recent memory. We are in the midst of putting up a website that has various multi-page forms to gather information from the customers. In goes without saying that the customer needs an opportunity to review and edit the information in the case they were overcome by a case of "fat fingers" during the data entry process. Seems like a straight forward requirement, and one that should not require the remaining lifespan of a given programmer to provide. Well; those of you web developers reading this will understand when I mention that the response to that belief is a resounding - NOT!!!
Given I was successfully able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat; I decided it would be useful, and perhaps add value back to the world if I described just how I approached the solution. I can't take full credit for all of the various techniques used, but I will take credit for taking the useful bits from what must have been 100+ posts in various support forums and crafting a workable solution from the huge patchwork of ideas gathered.
Yes; that's right. I'm going to lay it all out for you in one spot. Keep checking back, and I will publish a series of articles that will take you through the coding necessary step by step. The articles will be based on the popular Joomla forms handler RSForm Pro. The first installment will be coming soon, and it's title is RSForm Pro: One Small Core Hack.
